Understanding Stroke
Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability in Australia, with around 113 strokes occurring every day.
This course introduces the fundamentals of stroke recognition, diagnosis, and early management. Learners will explore the different types of stroke, key risk factors, and how tools such as BE-FAST support rapid identification. The course also outlines the role of imaging, time-critical treatments including thrombolysis and Endovascular Clot Retrieval (ECR), and how to follow the San stroke pathway to support safe, coordinated care.
